The Balance Between Movement and Stillness

Integrative Bodywork

Integrative Bodywork uses multiple modalities, techniques and practices to target session goals and aid in overall body recovery and maintenance.

My Purpose

My goal is to aid my clients in their self care through creating safe spaces, ROM goals, easing muscle pain, providing knowledge on at home care, and in general helping people allow themselves to have better quality lives and better awareness of their bodies. Our bodies will remember and hold onto traumas, physical strain, emotional and mental stress, injuries, and neglect, and we put them to use every day. I want people to allow themselves to have an escape, thank their bodies, and increase mobility for their future selves.

✧ Background ✧

Hello, my name is Komal (Muskaan) Kaur and I am the owner of Karma Bodywork! My interest in massage first began as a child when I saw my parents struggling with chronic pain and migraines. I began learning about human anatomy and the benefits of touch and muscle work as well as how it effects our bodies. My Indian roots and practices definitely played a big part in my perspective on massage, the body, movement and the balance of mental and physical health. Mixing those practices with modern day anatomical focus on the body really furthered my passion and interest in bodywork. I attended one of California’s leading colleges of massage therapy, the National Holistic Institute, which has 10 campuses across the state. I graduated from the 800 hour core program with honors and continue to further my education and knowledge in this field through classes, certifications, keeping up with new research and incorporating my roots and foundational studies on the body. I am CAMTC Certified (cmt #84169) and also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Later on, I also began teaching anatomy, kinesiology and bodywork classes at National Holistic Institute, furthering my foundational knowledge and passion of the bodywork field!
